When bar owners call us about a new beer tower, the conversation usually starts with looks. It should start with wear. In a high-traffic bar, your tower gets grabbed, wiped, splashed and bumped a few hundred times a night — and the finish is what takes that abuse. The Main Beer Tower Finishes, With Real Trade-Offs

Matte Black — the modern default

A matte black beer tower is our most popular finish, and for good reason. It's a powder coat applied over 304 stainless, so you get the corrosion resistance of stainless underneath and a tough, baked-on skin on top. Matte black hides fingerprints and water spots better than any other finish on this list — a real advantage when the tower sits under bar lighting all night. If you want the tower to look clean at 1 a.m. on a Saturday with zero effort, this is the pick.

Brushed Stainless — the commercial classic

A brushed stainless beer tower is what draft equipment looked like for decades, and it earned that status. The directional grain is the most forgiving surface there is: small scratches blend into the brushing instead of standing out. Maintenance is the easiest of any finish — a damp cloth and the occasional stainless cleaner. If your bar staff turns over often and cleaning discipline is unpredictable, brushed is the safe bet.

Polished Stainless — the showpiece

Mirror-polished stainless looks spectacular under light, which is exactly why it demands attention. Every fingerprint, drip and smudge shows. It belongs where someone wipes the tower down through the shift — think a staffed cocktail bar, not a self-serve tap wall.

Candy Copper — the copper look without the patina

Our candy copper finish is a translucent coating applied over stainless. You get the warm copper tone bars love, but because there's no actual copper at the surface, it never oxidizes, never turns green, and never needs polishing. For most venues that want a copper beer tower, this is the answer: the look, minus the upkeep.

Gold and Glossy White

A gold finish reads upscale — hotel bars and lounges use it as a statement piece. Glossy white works beautifully in bright, modern spaces (breweries with white-tile aesthetics, café-bars), though like polished stainless, gloss shows marks more readily than matte. Both are applied in-house over the same 304 stainless body.

Real Copper — a living finish

We also build towers in real copper. Be clear about what you're buying: copper develops a patina — it darkens, spots and ages with every touch. Some owners love it; it's character you can't fake, and we sell it as a feature. But it is a living finish, and the patina is not covered by warranty. If you want copper that stays the same color forever, choose candy copper instead.

Maintenance, Ranked Easiest to Most Demanding

• 1. Brushed stainless — wipe and forget; scratches blend in.
• 2. Matte black powder coat — hides prints and spots; occasional wipe-down.
• 3. Candy copper, gold, glossy white — durable coatings, but gloss shows smudges.
• 4. Polished stainless — needs regular wiping to look its best.
• 5. Real copper — no cleaning required, but it will change; that's the point.

Matching the Finish to Your Venue

High-volume neighborhood bar or dive: brushed stainless or matte black. Both shrug off abuse, and neither punishes a missed cleaning night.

Hotel bar or cocktail lounge: polished stainless, gold or candy copper. You have staff wiping surfaces anyway, so lean into the showpiece.

Brewery taproom: matte black is the modern default, but real copper tells a story regulars notice — if you're comfortable with the patina.
