Every drip tray we build at Fût Mauricie belongs to one of four families: Standard, Recessed, X-Pressed or Platform. They all catch drips and rinse-water — the difference is how they sit on (or in) your counter, how they drain, and what they do for your bartenders' workflow. Pick the wrong type and you're cutting a counter you didn't need to cut, or living with a tray that fights your setup every shift. Here's how to choose, straight from the shop floor in Trois-Rivières.
Standard: The Go-To
A standard drip tray sits directly on the counter. The basin is 6″ deep, and because nothing is fastened or plumbed into the counter itself, the whole tray is easily movable — lift it off at closing time, carry it to the sink, wash it, put it back.
It's the go-to for most bars and the most affordable of the four types. It's also the answer when you can't cut into the counter — rented space, stone countertop, mobile bar — or simply don't want to.
Choose Standard if:
- You want the simplest, most affordable option
- Cutting the counter isn't possible or isn't worth it
- You want to lift the tray off to wash it
Recessed: Flush and Built-In
A recessed drip tray drops into a cutout in your counter and sits flush with the surface. A 1″ lip all around rests on the counter and carries the tray. When you order, you spec the 6″ basin — the tray measures roughly 8″ overall once the lip is included, so size your cutout to the basin, not the overall dimension.
What you get in exchange for the cutout: a cleaner, integrated look, improved drainage, and fixed drain plumbing below the counter. Glasses slide from counter to tray with no edge in between. This is the choice for permanent installations where the bar is being built or renovated around the draft system.
Choose Recessed if:
- You're building or renovating the bar and can plan the cutout
- You want a flush, integrated front bar
- You want plumbed-in drainage rather than a removable tray
X-Pressed: Built to Drain
The X-Pressed drip tray is a one-piece pressed basin with 1″ raised borders along the long edges — 8″ overall, with the same 6″ working basin — and a slight slope toward the middle. That slope is the point: liquid runs to the drain instead of pooling in corners, which makes the X-Pressed the best-draining tray we build.
Like a standard, it sits on the counter — no cutout required. If you pour high volume and you're tired of standing water in the tray, this is your answer without touching the counter.
Choose X-Pressed if:
- Drainage is your top priority
- You want a one-piece pressed basin with no pooling
- You want on-counter installation, no cutout
Platform: The Tower Rides on Top
A platform drip tray is different from the other three: it's a raised platform your beer tower mounts directly onto, with the drip tray sitting in front of it. The tower comes off the counter entirely, which frees up counter workspace for your bartenders — no more working around a tower footprint in the middle of the prep zone.
The standard platform depth is 14.8125″. If you're mounting a Fût Mauricie tower, our tray builder positions the tower mounting holes automatically from the tower flange — 16 tower/flange combinations are covered, including 3″, 4″ and 6″ columns, Odyssey, Rough and copper variants. Larger flanges get deeper 17.8125″ or 18.8125″ platforms. Running a tower that isn't ours? We ship the platform without holes and you drill to your flange.
Choose Platform if:
- Counter workspace is tight and you want the tower off the work surface
- You're mounting a Fût Mauricie tower and want the holes pre-positioned
- You want tower and tray handled as one clean unit

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | Sits on the counter, easily movable | 6″ | No | Most bars; easy washing; lowest cost |
| Recessed | Drops into a cutout, flush, 1″ lip rests on counter | 6″ basin (~8″ overall) | Yes | Clean integrated look, fixed drain plumbing |
| X-Pressed | Sits on the counter, one-piece pressed basin | 6″ basin (8″ overall) | No | Best-in-class drainage, high-volume pouring |
| Platform | Raised platform, tower mounts on top, tray in front | 14.8125″ (up to 18.8125″ for larger flanges) | No | Freeing up bartender workspace |
What Every Type Shares
Whichever family you pick, the platform underneath it (pun intended) is the same:
- Custom width from 12″ to 100″ — built to your bar, not to a catalog
- Up to 3 drains and 2 glass rinsers, positioned exactly where you want them with drag-and-drop in the builder
- Equal-length grille inserts — max ~36″ each, and never split over a glass rinser
- Brushed stainless steel, or powder coat for +$125 in Matte Black, Gold, Copper or White. Fair warning: powder coat on a drip tray can chip over time — glasses and grilles are hard on it. We maximize adhesion in prep, but brushed stainless is the no-maintenance pick.
- From $150, with a lifetime warranty on welds
- Built in 5 to 15 business days in Trois-Rivières, Québec
